It is now known that the emaciated 60-foot-long fin whale, that was beached at Breezy Point in New York City on Wednesday, died of undernourishment  not from any intervention from humans. However, the results of tissue sample tests are still needed in order to find out the exact cause of its death.
The whale will be buried in the sand dunes on the beach, “where the high water line will prevent erosion.”
